Property description
The Bothy is located within the grounds of the 40 acre Highland estate of Craggantoul with rolling meadows, orchards, duck pond, ancient oak forest with winding trails down to Loch Tay, where we have fishing rights for trout.
The newly refurbished Bothy is a cosy retreat with sensational views over Loch Tay and the surrounding meadows and woodlands. The property has been furnished with soft, neutral colours and textures, with the comfort of our guests at the forefront of our minds to ensure a relaxing holiday experience.
The large double ensuite bedroom has a high backed mahogany king sized sled bed with luxurious memory support mattress for ultimate comfort. The spacious ensuite bathroom is equipped with a double ended cast iron roll top bath to sink into after a day in the hills and a large walk in shower. The Bothy has a modern and fully equipped kitchen and the living area has a roaring wood burning stove to keep guests warm and toasty throughout the year.
Area
The Bothy is two hours from Glasgow and Edinburgh and is rich in history, wildlife, activities and attractions, with water sports, hill walking, mountain biking, fishing, golf courses, castles and distilleries on the doorstep!
Don't just take our word for it.....
'The Bothy is beautiful, so beautiful. The furniture is of excellent quality, and the bed was so comfy. With the snow outside, the central heating was second to none and we were lovely and warm, even more so with the wood burner. The decor was clean and bright and all the fixtures and fittings were quality. We like to leave as we find so I hope the cleaner didnt have too much to do. We would like to consider coming again in the summer. 5 stars - excellent.'
'What a place…Love the bath with views up to the stars, love the view, love the walks, love the fire. Love the Bothy, thanks.'
'We have now returned after a fantastic week at Craggantoul. I can't believe how fortunate we were to find you - quite by chance - when the idea of spending our holiday at Loch Tay was no more than a thought. We have spent a lot of time over the last few years in self catering accommodation - in the UK and Europe - and we have never enjoyed a stay so much as we did at Craggantoul. You have created the most wonderful, comfortable and high quality environment. We feel very lucky to have stayed there.'
'We had a fantastic time at the cottage; all the fittings and fixtures were of such a high standard, and it was so warm and comfy. Hopefully we will be back sometime over the summer. Thanks again!'
'Thank you for accommodating us in this great little place. The Bothy has been an ideal place to base ourselves to see Perthshire and the Highlands. The local pubs are great and it is worth spending some time eating, shopping, walking, drinking coffee (or whisky or ale) in Killin, Kenmore and Aberfeldy. Thanks for the quiet, thanks for the nature, thanks for the view.'
'An idyllic location and a delightful cottage. The wander down to the Loch side was definitely worth it. Many thanks.'
